Mother's Promise is the idea that all of us deserve someone to nurture us, protect us and prepare us for life.We all deserve a helping hand when starting a family or welcoming a new life into this world. My daughter and I wanted to do something to help the many families we see who are less fortunate.
The fact is that so many families are in need of the basics, food, clothing & shelter, was shocking considering how much people have on the other end of the spectrum. When my daughter was 7 years old she asked me what she could do for a homeless woman we passed by on the streets in Palo Alto. I immediately understood her compassion and tried my best to explain how good people end up homeless- but that wasn't enough.
About three years ago we were having another discussion about why people are poor. I was inspired by my daughter's willingness to help others and we decided to donate a few of her baby blankets, onesies, and diapers she no longer needed. We hadn't realized we were still storing size 3 diapers and quickly bagged up these items and dropped them off at our local hospital's emergency room.
As it turns out, what seemed like an effortless gesture on our part was so well received that we decided to make it a regular activity.
This website has been in development for three years as part of our promise to help mothers' in need of basic supplies in order to provide for their families. We hope to provide information about us our cause and facts about the less fortunate mothers' among us.
To create the opportunity for mothers' to help other mothers' to prepare, protect and provide for their families.
We are just like you. We have garage sales, we recycle, we like hand-me-downs and we are charitable people.
We are mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, daughters and wives. We are committed to our families and giving our children the best opportunities available to us.
We see a need and want to fill it. All of us volunteer and donate simple but necessary items that help new moms have the basic necessities to be prepared as parents.
"There is always something you possess that is considered helpful to someone else."
Go to our Mother's Registry and find out how.
